I like chiptunes. The fact that THIS particular piece is from a game is purely incidental. Nevertheless, it is the best example that I can find of what I’m talking about.
I generally dislike pop music, especially in it’s modern incarnation. Occasionally, however, I will come across an unconventional, instrumental cover that will really grab ahold of me. FOR EXAMPLE.
I love classical pieces with a cinematic tinge to it. THIS is a personal favorite.
On a similar note, I absolutely love symphonic metal. If I ever were to be a fan of a particular band, it would be THESE GUYS or someone just like them.
Speaking of which, THIS SONG from the same band is one of my favorites.
Soundtracks from both VIDEOGAMES and MOVIES can be pretty awesome, too.
